Filing Form I-129 Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker
Legal and Administrative Actions:
- Employer completes Form I-129 to request temporary employment for a foreign worker in the U.S.
- Provide evidence for the specific visa classification (H-1B, L-1, O-1, etc.).
- Submit supporting documents such as job offer letters, contracts, and proof of qualifications.
- File the petition with USCIS and pay the required filing fees.
- Receive a USCIS receipt notice and wait for approval, denial, or request for evidence.
- Upon approval, worker applies for a visa abroad or changes status inside the U.S.
