I received my first law degree from Belarusian State University and later completed my full legal education in the United States.
I earned my Juris Doctor in 1994 from Washington and Lee Law School.

I spent seven years working in major law firms. The first two years I worked at Hunton & Williams, representing clients such as Virginia Power and Philip Morris.
Later, I joined Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld (Akin Gump), where I handled international transactions and represented companies like Lukoil, Tengizchevroil, Surgutneftegas, Starbucks, Samsung, Food Lion, and the Belgian retailer Delhaize. During this period, I focused on corporate law and IPOs (Initial Public Offerings).
